There has never been an easier way to create backups for all of your media files than now. All you need to do is download video game copy software and you will be on your way to protecting all of the discs in your collection. It is very important to create duplicates of your games, especially the rarest to find. It is because you do not want the originals to run the risk of becoming damaged. It would be much better if you could create a backup copy and play that instead of the actual game. Then you do not have to worry about any problems that could potentially bust the original.

The technology of video game copy software have really taken off in the past few years. You will now be able to burn backups in record time. But do not think it will cost you an arm and a leg. These new programs are less than $50 and they run perfectly. You will not even have to pay anything after the initial purchase. Once you buy the video game copy software, you will be able to start copying all of your discs and really give the originals the protection they deserve.

The price of new video games is extremely high at the moment and it does not look like they will be getting cheaper anytime soon. That is why you need to make sure to create backups for your most important inventory. Say for example that one of your favorite games becomes scratched beyond any recognition by some unknown event. If you have no backup, you need to go to the store and drop another large sum of money to replace it. Now, let’s say you made a copy of that same game. Then the same situation happened and you came home to see your burned copy was really scratched and it did not work anymore. Well, you are still going to have to replace it, but this time you will only spend the cost of one blank disc to recopy the original.

Video game copy software will not only save you huge amounts of money in the long run, but it will also save you from unwanted stress. You will not have to worry about where you leave your games when you are not home or who is allowed to play them. The burned copies can be open for use by anyone and their only punishment for ruining a game will be the cost of one blank disc. Much better than having to buy a brand new game!

Originally played using pen and paper, and now available as either a board game or in an electronic version, the battleship game originated from the early twentieth century, being the idea of Clifford Von Wickler, the game is ideally for two players, playing against each other. Although the battleship game can be adapted when played on paper the typical set up, and the one we refer to here, is where the game is played on one hundred squares in a grid of ten squares high by ten squares wide, where on the vertical axis the squares are labelled with a letter and on the horizontal axis, the squares are labelled by a number, this gives each square in the grid a unique reference, for example, A1, C7 or H8 and so on.

For each battleship game, both players need two of these grids. On one of the grids, to which we will refer to as the first grid, the players set out their battleships, which are identical in size for each player, this means that both player’s grids have the same amount of squares occupied by part of a battleship and the same amount unoccupied. The sizes and class of each battleship can, and does vary dependant on the set of rules in use and battleships can only be placed straight, be that horizontally or vertically and never diagonal, neither are they able to overlap, where as parts of two battleships occupy the same square. The second grid for each player is to keep record of their own shots taken during the battleship game.

When the battleship game commences the player who is to play first, now named player one, announces a square they wish to fire at, let’s say D4 for example, the players opponent, now named player two, at this point announces what damage, if any, that shot has done to any of his battleships. Now also at this point there is various outcomes, if there was part of a battleship in the square D4, then the player firing (player one) has got a hit on a battleship, they then mark their second grid at square D4 as a hit, perhaps shading the square D4 in to show a hit, alternatively they may have missed any battleships altogether and this is also marked on their second grid, but this time as a miss, perhaps marked with an X, or player two may announce that all the squares, that a battleship occupied, are now hit which would result in that battleship being sunk, and player one would perhaps outline all the shaded squares associated with that battleship to show it has been sunk.

Just as the above points to player one keeping their record of shots on their second grid, player two would keep exactly the same record on their first grid, the grid where they have placed their battleships and perhaps the same style of keeping record would be adopted, this is simply for player two to keep their own record of player one’s actions. The battleship game then continues with the roles reversed, player two announces a square they wish to fire at, and the above is repeated in terms of keeping record. This sequence continues until one player has sunk all their opponent’s battleships, thus winning the battleship game.

There seems to be a general consensus within the gaming industry that the current pricing model for games cannot continue as development costs have risen dramatically this generation of consoles as gamers demand a visual feast from their HD games.

Even the big boys of the industry are starting to struggle, EA lost $82 million last quarter and have cancelled many games and has stated their intention to concentrate on core franchises, which means less perceived risk which in turn means less innovation and new experiences for the gamer.

The gaming industry needs to find a way to pay for the experience that gamers are demanding and the current financial model isn’t working for the majority of developers and publishers. The industry has seen the explosion of casual gaming and the huge financial rewards that this has brought and want to adapt that financial model into the more hardcore gaming experience.

Of course, there are other financial models already out there than that of the industry standard single fixed price, perhaps the most popular is the pay monthly plan. This is usually deployed by MMORPG’s (massively multiplayer online role playing games) such as World of Warcraft whereby consumers usually pay an initially lower fee for the game but then pay a monthly fee for continued access to the game and its content. This monthly fee entitles the user to continued access, bug updates and usually content updates as well (though big content updates are sometimes sold separately). This model allows developers to be more adventurous and try new things as they can release new content as and when its finished and gain instant feedback on it from the consumer whereas the more traditional flat fee yearly purchase the developer needs to play it safer in order to make sure that they get the sales they need to make a profit.

Another model that gets trotted out a lot as the potential saviour of the gaming industry is the micro transaction gaming model, whereby the initial and base experience may be free but then the user is required to pay small fee’s in order to access more content or additional features.

A popular example of this is the numerous games on the social network Facebook, with the prime example being FarmVille. The game is entirely free to play, though you can ‘enhance’ your experience by buying in game items for real cash.

I’m not quite so sure however how the gaming industry expects to be able to transfer this model from such a casual game market into the more hardcore market that the Xbox and PS3 provides. The industry would suggest that gamers would look favourably upon paying less upfront for the game and trying the core experience and deciding if they like it or not before shelling out extra money for additional access to content or features. However as a gamer I will either know before I buy the game either by playing the demo (or playing previous years if its a franchise) or following the press’ coverage of the game as to whether I wish to purchase and play the game. Do I as a gamer really want to have to feel I have to shell out an extra $5 for a particular feature or item in game in order to feel competitive against other people as they all have it and I don’t?

The industry argues that some people will be able to experience games for cheaper than they can currently due to the flexible pricing that micro transactions offers and whilst this may be true for the very casual gamer, for the hardcore gamer that has been supporting the game industry for years paying hundreds of dollars a years for games it will surely cost them a lot more in order to achieve the same experience that they are currently receiving for their $60.

I believe that this micro transaction model also has a lot of risks for the developers and publishers, if the consumer is paying a lot less upfront then it requires the user to spend quite a lot in game to enhance their experience, this means that they need to be having a compelling experience already to warrant spending more. Currently shovelware still makes a lot of cash as the consumer has no choice but to pay the full fee upfront, if however a user buys it for cheap and then realises how crap it really is then the developer has lost out on money that it would have otherwise already got. This also works the same for more innovative and risky games, the industry isn’t guaranteed a certain profit from each copy sold which means that they will have to be more conservative in the games that they create in order to make sure they make the money back that the shelled out on creating it.

The industry has been testing the waters with going towards a more micro transactional system this generation with the addition of DLC (downloadable content), whilst some of the content is clearly extra than that of which the developer had originally planned for the game, some content for games has been deliberately removed from the core package and repackaged as DLC in order to nickel and dime the consumer for every penny they have.

In conclusion I feel that the industry must change something in the way that they either make games or the way that they price games in order to survive. Either we as gamers must accept smaller lower visual quality games to keep costs low or if we continue to want a movie like experience we must accept that we will be asked to pay more for the experience. It will be hard for the industry to try and persuade the gamer that its in their best interest to move away from the current pricing model as it is currently very favourable to the consumer, however im not sure that micro transactions are the future of gaming.

Gaming chairs are a great idea for the dedicated gamer, and there are some superb options available for console gamers who want some comfort and a better experience with their game play. You can find a bunch of different gaming chairs compatible with the main consoles available, and, they’re also available with a load of cool add-ons for gamers to choose from.

Many video games chairs feature MP3 player attachments, speakers, and docks for game steering wheels and specialist joypads. Gaming chairs are also better for you physically than regular chairs, as they support you in the places that can be otherwise neglected when you’re gaming. This means better back support, head-rests to support your nut and your neck, arm rests and support for your legs.

This means less aches and pains when you snap back to the real world, which means in reality that you can play your games more often with less negative physical effects, plus you’ll play better when comfortable! Comfort is a great incentive, but it is the greater level of physical support that these chairs can offer you that should be the driving force behind you getting one. Your back will thank you!

Plenty of the best games chairs also come fitted with speakers in the headrests to give you an even more engrossing experience, and of course a lot of them are supplied with headphone sockets so you can get the most out of your games without driving everyone else insane.

The great thing about these chairs is, you don’t have to get one of the gaming chairs that is packed with features- if you want something simple and practical, there’s plenty of games chairs for you to choose from. So before you make your back and legs ache again, check out some of the best gaming chairs and get twiddling those thumbs on some stylish furniture.

The game of Yahtzee hasn’t always been as popular as it is today, the games current owners claim that they sell up to 50 million Yahtzee dice games every year, but these sales haven’t always been the case. Yahtzee, first filed in 1956 for a trademark, struggled in its early years to set any gaming fans pulses racing, that was until the idea of having Yahtzee dice game parties in homes was introduced with the idea of spreading the word about Yahtzee by means of word of mouth, this had a very positive effect and helped immensely in making Yahtzee a very popular household dice game.

So what are the basics of Yahtzee?

The idea or object in a game of Yahtzee is to roll five dice in certain combinations, with thirteen combinations needed in each game, the players take it in turns and in each turn there is the option of up to three rolls of the dice for each player with each combination needed giving different scoring possibilities. No combination can be used twice and once all thirteen combinations in a Yahtzee dice game have been scored by all the players the totals are totalled up, any bonus’s added and the player with the highest total is the winner of that game of Yahtzee.

The Yahtzee scorecard has two parts, an upper and lower section with six combinations or ‘categories’ in the upper section and seven in the lower. With each turn, each player rolls the five dice and then has the option to ‘keep’ whichever dice they feel will be the most helpful to them in obtaining a scoring combination which hasn’t already been scored before rolling the dice again, with up to a maximum of three rolls allowed in each turn to reach or get a scoring combination. After each turn the player must make a decision in which category they want to mark their score. If no category is left corresponding to the rolled dice the player must choose an un-scored category to use and score that category zero. There are bonus points available for the top section and also extra points for a second and any subsequent Yahtzee scores.

You can not get a video game testing job by searching for one at your local classified site. The fact is that video game testing firms do not advertise vacant positions for a video game tester on newspapers. This is because they believe if they do so they are going to get a lot of application from ordinary people looking to test games for fun, rather than taking them seriously. You need to actually make contacts with developers. I believe that getting in touch with developers is not easy but it is possible, so I urge you to give it a try. Ask around and meet a developer, tell him about your interest of wanting to become a video game tester. Convince him with the reasons on why you are going to make a good testing job. Let him know of the games you have played, the consoles you own and the amount of years you have been playing video games and the types of games you play. If you have ever discovered any bug while plying video games, let him know about it.

I guess you know the role of a video game tester. The role of a game tester is to detect bugs in pre-released games before they are sent into the market. It is not an easy job but you can become one if you put more effort into it. It could be fun too due to it has many benefits of its own. You will be paid compensation for any bug you detect in the games you test in addition to the initial salary you are paid.

Once you land a testing job, do not waste your time on the assignment given to you. It is likely that you will test them at home or their studio. Re-test the games twice, if possible thrice to see that you are not leaving any bug behind. After you are through with it, write what you discovered in a report and send it to the developer that assigned you the testing job. Remember to crosscheck the report before sending them back to the developer. Time is money, so don’t waste time on any game you are given to test. Video game testing is a professional job, so you should treat it as one. Luckily, your testing will impress them and you would get more testing. The payment is okay but the more experience you gather; the more you will be paid. Payment is made through check and it s done bi-weekly.

Cloaked in some very interesting history, Monopoly has been a favourite board game for family and friends in one form or another for over a century. Published in 1999, the Guiness Book of Records even state that the monopoly board game has been played worldwide by over 500 million people making it the world’s most played board game.

Originally made with the idea of teaching people an economic system, monopoly, literally meaning to dominate or simply have one person own everything, relates here to the buying and selling of property and the management of those properties, monopoly has been seen to help with educating people in the realms of business dealings and financial management.

Originating from a game going by the name, the landlords game, the monopoly board game has evolved to the ones we play today with many different versions and themes available, structured around the ability for one player to create the most wealth to win the game, to monopolize or to own the most, thus creating the most wealth and forcing his opponents into bankruptcy.

The official instructions to the monopoly board game encourage players to adapt the rules or even add additional house rules or perhaps remove a rule to make their playing that bit more unique, however the basis of the original monopoly board game is much the same over.

To briefly outline just a few of the basics, firstly before the game commences the players decide on who is to be the banker and each player chooses a playing piece, then in an agreed order the players roll the dice to progress clockwise around the playing board. On route the players meet various scenario’s including the picking of community chest or chance cards which give instructions for that player to follow, the prospect of ending up in jail or landing on a tax square where a payment has to be made to the bank but the most important strategy is for players to buy up properties, once bought, any other player landing on an owned property will have rent to pay to the owner of that property. If a player can acquire a full set of properties which are related they can then start to enhance that set of properties by purchasing houses and hotels to increase the rent payments due from other players when landing on one of the properties within that set.

The winner of the game is the player left after the other players have nothing left in money or property terms, but please be aware that this situation sometimes takes a very long time to achieve so perhaps one of your house rules could be a time limit, where the winner of the monopoly game is the player with the most cash and assets after a given time of playing.

A role-playing game (RPG) is a broad family of games in which players assume the roles of characters, or take control of one or more avatars, in a fictional setting. Actions taken within the game succeed or fail according to a formal system of rules and guidelines. Or more commonly speaking RPG are today’s in games that most people from most generations just love to play.

Like most games, RPG have more varieties and categories in which they belong. Some of these have a simple setting and an even simpler gameplay, but some of them require more time and concentration, and of course patience here is the key virtue, these games tend to have complicated rules which cannot be broken under any circumstances.

RPG have a wide range of categories, like:

Pen and Paper Games

Any true RPG fan knows that this is the first format of RPG ever. In this type of game, the Game Master (GM) describes the world, its inhabitants and the basic rules, the other players describe the intended actions of their characters, and the GM describes the outcomes.

Live Action

This type of RPG, can really remind of a theatre play. Here the participants act out their characters’ actions instead of describing them, and a real environment is used to represent the imaginary setting of the game world. Players are often costumed as their characters and use appropriate props, and the venue may be decorated to resemble the fictional setting.

Single-Player

This type of an RPG forms a loosely defined genre of computer and console games with origins in role-playing games. This transition changes the experience of the game, providing a visual representation of the world and taking the playing experience into a whole new level of gameplay.

Multi-Player

This type if game involves a number of players that use an Internet connection to play an RPG. These RPG games also combine the large-scale social interaction and persistent world of MUDs with graphic interfaces.

All I can say about my self is that while others consider writing to be their passion, I consider writing to be my hobby, and something that can quench my curiosity and allow me to share my humble knowledge with other people.
